Tinto's pretty damn weak, and Stranger by the Minute is just complete garbage

Colin's bass in Wedding Nails is one hell of a groove. One of my fav bassists no doubt.

.3 is stunning.

Seriously, as soon as .3 I have to drop everything and focus on it. It's the best thing Wilson has ever written hands down. Such a mind blowing song and it accomplishes so much in just a mere five and a half minutes.

Damn, prodigal and .3 are the weakest on this near perfect album IMO

Wow really dude? What doesn't do it for ya in .3? The strings, the ambiance, that engaging bass riff, the droning guitars,

everything is fucking perfect haha

You said it yourself, the droning guitars. it's not a bad track by any means, unlike prodigal but it's nothing amazing

You ever try listening to it with headphones. I remember when I was first getting into this album and I was on a walk and I didn't know the album as well. And that song came on and I was like was the hell is going on lol never heard anything like it before. Such a bitchin track. Album is thoroughly amazing but it REALLY starts to get good from that track to the end imo

I'll give it a relisten now. Might as well do an arbitrary album ranking:

Strip the Soul

Blackest Eyes

Collapse the Light Into Earth

Trains

Heartattack in a Layby

Sound of Muzak

Gravity Eyelids

The Creator Had a Mastertape

Wedding Nails

Lips of Ashes

.3

Prodigal

I mean, apart from the last 2, the rest are all perfect songs, so my ranking is pretty meaningless. If Drown With Me was actually part of this album, it would be a definite 5

Pretty unique ranking I'd say. I couldn't possibly rank this haha

And damn Lips of Ashes is so low. Beautiful track for me. Dat solo near the end.

tbh, they're all equal. Ranking any other PT album is so much easier, but that's roughly how it stands.

Lips of ashes is great! don't let its position fool you. the only negative about it is the delivery of "touching. INSIDe INSIDE INSIDE", which doesn't really work in my mind

I think Muzak is definitely one of the worst on here. Wilson's lyrics are kinda ridiculous.
