I feel this albums biggest problem is the attempt at ambiance. On One it worked very well but here it seems incredibly forced and paced awkwardly. I appreciate the attempt at it because I love ambiance in metal but not all of it works out to the best effort.

Songs like Resist show this perfectly. Most of that song would sound empty without vocals on it.

They did good with the ambiance on One for the most part but it just doesn't work here much.

This is a demo of Eclipse with Elliot on vocals.
He's a solid vocalist, but after listening to that, it's obvious why they dropped him.

Honestly, Elliot sounds good...

You think he's a better fit than the current vocalist?

They both have great voices but I think I prefer Elliot's version because his melodies are more tangible and less vague than Ashe's.

Fair enough. Maybe I'm just too used to Ashe's version.

It may be a stylistic thing. I think the band has intentionally overtracked, harmonized and mixed Ashe's vocals in the background to make it more ethereal while the demo has a much more meaty vocal mix so it's easier to pick up and focus on the melody.

Okay, now I feel like this would've been better with Elliot on vox.
You just never know what you got till its gone with TesseracT

Heh! It's funny to see Elliot support. Personally, I dug him on the Perspective EP. At that time
however, it seemed like the whole world was against him.

Probably because he had to fill the rather large shoes of Tompkins while the band seemed to making a hell of a stylistic left turn. I liked Perspective too, but I think it was all a bit much for most people to take in.

I don't believe the hate stemmed from any stylistic choices. There are videos available of the band's
acoustic set with Dan. Nobody made bones about that.
I believe, the hate was simply because Elliot's style is an acquired taste.

BTW, Have you heard Voices from the Fuselage? That's Ashe's other band. They are basically a
carbon copy of One era TesseracT. Was wondering if your opinion on their EP would any different than
this release.

Ugh, thanks for posting that link NonApplicable. Used to spin that quite a bit but forgot about it. Good to hear again. Elliott was a weird fit in some ways, but the melodies showcased in that demo are gooold.
