Decided this was a rock-solid 4 rather than a light 4.5. Can't wait for them to remix this stuff themselves

"Too much repetition to justify a 4 IMO."

Do not listen to Swans' new album.

Giorgio doesn't sound forced to me. Every song in this album is really unique so the flow will suffer

a little bit.

Oh god, this line in the review:

"seventy-four minutes is WAY too long for a record of this style."

Any style of music can be any length. House music has always been known to be really long, and when

you think about it, the structure of each song in this album is still roughly house-based. The

funkyness and mixture of electronic and analog sounds make this album not just different, but a damn

good use of 70 minutes. I'd much rather hear this than pure house music for an extended time.

only heard bits and fragments off this album so far, but from what I've heard it sounds pretty good. I'll have to check this out.

@TrantaLocked:

Not at all unique. Listen to some of Earth Wind & Fire's work (Disco funk legends) from the 70's and

80's - which is the era DP draw allot from stylistically.

In fact Fragments Of Time reminds me of a Steely Dan song. Only if SD wrote it it'd be

brilliantly catchy.

Kids these days - such short attention spans! This album progresses so marvelously from start to finish in a way that contemporaries rarely do. Even if it's not the most engaging disco rehash, this album trumps most other '13 releases.

Dude, one of my favorite bands is Lightning Bolt. If you don't know who they are, they're a noise rock band who thrive on minimalism and generally repetitive motifs akin to drone music. I don't have a short attention span, I just simply didn't like this as much as other '13 releases.

Lightning Bolt is in my opinion better than this Daft Punk album, but to argue that it drags on is to miss the point. Disco and funk used to be popular dance music in the same way that EDM is now popular dance music; the latter is without a doubt 'repetitive' - as its purpose requires.

I simply dislike most of the current club music. It just sounds so superficial. This album says fuck

you to today's dance and pop music.
