I will always care about the depth of the lyrics in hip hop ( unless the act is dj shadow, flying lotus, dilla and more ) and there's no way that somebody can change my opinion.

Beyond the lyrical messages, I don't really see what its weak components are. Tone, inflection and rhythmic flow are all pretty tight. And though the content of what he speaks is nothing mind-altering, it serves its structural purpose fairly well.

To me, the beats sound the same as every other gangsta rap album. Thats the biggest turn off to to me of this style. So unoriginal. Its all been done. That's also why I really enjoy good kid madd city. Some nice refreshing originality in mainstream rap.

yeah gkmc is a little weak in the production dept. rapping is awesome though. this is almost the opposite, but the rapping is still pretty goo. i probably like both records equally.

I basically just mean non indie hip hop. Whatever you want to call it, I think it sucks. Whether or not I know a lot about it, I hear it and it fuckin sucks to me. And these kids growing up listening to this don't know shit about shit. Those are my final thoughts. I'm done ranting about something I dont like because I hate when people do that on threads for bands I do like.

haha i hear ya man. I am normally not a hater so I'm done with that. I just find it really hard to get into most popular rap, whatever the hell you want to call it. I've been giving more of it a chance lately due to my friend, but it does nothing for me. But I'll keep listening to everything I read decent reviews for either way with an open mind.
