deadmau5 and guetta were for sure not brostep, and even deadmau5 can not really be called hard electro

there's not really any such thing as brostep (god I hate that word). It's either a heavier take on dubstep or, in the case of most of these big artists, electro

deadmau5 gets grouped in with a bunch of shitty electro-house artists but he is (not as much anymore) way better than most of them.

didn't mean to run from the conversation, but I had a ferry to catch.

I guess I can see what you're saying andcas, but we still disagree on what his intention was. You seem to have this overly cynical kind of attitude towards a lot of popular artists, in fact almost all of them.

-Brostep arguably became trendy as a result of Skrillex becoming popular, not the other way around. I mean, who was doing brostep before him (with a similar level of exposure)? I think you've got the causal arrow backwards on that.

I agree in that no one has made as many headlines and opened as many doors as he may have done, but brostep was still a huge thing happening in America at the time; guys like Excision (Shambahla was like mecca), Downlink, Datsik.... the whole Rottun family. It might be incredibly cynical, but you need to remember that he began making electro (it was the Gaga and La Roux remixes that made him a star). He's only become solely focused on the wubs since it's taken of and become the global thing that it has

I thought most people hated on his stuff.

Nah his old stuff is still pretty heavily revered. He's just become more simplified and commercialized with every release

Does that actually make you hallucinate or is that just a gimmick?

Gimmick. A lot of Absinth on the market doesn't even contain the stuff that supposedly makes your mind go crazy, I mean you can get on a trip - especially with bad genetics but hallucinations? Like the shit in movies? Nah. You need really heavy shit for that.

nah no hallucinating it just gets you drunk quicker cos it's 60% alcohol

pretty horrible stuff really like I do the whole thing with the sugar and the flame etc but yeah it's not really my favourite
thing in the world

I bought the bottle on a whim like four years ago and forgot I had it so yeah gave it another go
