Just listened to Patti Smith's Horses and wow Birdland is how you do a talking track

Nothing happens in the story except up until the very end when Waldo gets a particularly hardcore acupuncture
Most of it is just a bunch of rambling that doesn't go anywhere. The whole mailing himself thing happens at minute 3 yet the song is 8 minutes long ffs

Opinions, i suppose. I appreciate the story telling in both their first two albums, but i can understand why you wouldn't like such an....obnoxious track. Lady Godiva is much better honestly.

The music did grow on me a fair bit (Still pretty uneventful though, and it couldn't really go anywhere since then it'd just overshadow the story which is the whole point of the song), but I can just about skip the story and not miss out on much
It's okay though pretty much everything else is fantastic

Are you saying Lady Godiva is uneventful or are you still talking The Gift??? I think Lady Godiva is pretty eventful.

The Gift, Lady Godiva is one of the best tracks

Yes Lady Godiva is great. Its the "Heroin" of this album as far as im concerned.
