The first 5 IM records have a similar vibe to one another and don't have drastic differences musically speaking. They're all great records, but I've always loved how SiT and SSOSS strayed from the formula that they established with the earlier albums (and arguably perfected with Powerslave). It's just a shame how this was their last great record until Brave New World.

At first I had mixed feelings but it quickly became one of my favourite Maiden. The band should have continued with this formula for a few more years. No Prayer for the Dying was a huge step back.

^ I think they realised that with 7th Son, they had explored and stretched this formula as far as they could at the time. That's why they didn't pursue a 3rd album with keyboards etc.

I agree with you on that.

I'd like to see Maiden experimenting again, they still have the energy and the talent; their recent albums are great, but they just go for their easier, typical sound

I think after BNW, Maiden's latest efforts have been quite experimenting my friend.

Adrian wanted to keep the SIT and SSOASS formula but Harris didn't agree. Adrian left and the rest is history. If Adrian stayed I think the next album would be different.

Well, it wasn't experimenting like lat's say Dream Theater but it was experimenting enough for Maiden's

standards.

Adrian is such an important cog in the Iron maiden process and one of my favorite members. His solo's are easily my favorite as well.

He is one of the few musicians I asked an autograph if I had a chance.

His playing had a huge impact on me back in the days.

I disagree, but I can easily understand someone thinking this is their best.
