Wow... upon further listening, I've come to a conclusion:

Come Clarity = In Flames' masterpiece

It is, but I'll attempt to back it up. The choruses are fucking huge this time around, bigger than ever, and Anders' singing is, in my opinion, much better than on the last two releases (those two also focused on chouruses much more than pre-RTR material. This is also much more diverse than previous efforts. While songs like the title track may not be liked by die-hard fans and could even be seen as selling out, I think they are incredible. The guitar solos are not back all the way, but I was never a big fan of having a guitar solo for the sake of a guitar solo. No doubt, this could have used more, but at least their not as unfufilling as the stuff on Reroute, and when it happens it's awesome.

In Flames have come back stronger than ever, and this is all of their previous albums rolled into one while omitting the problems some previous works have faced (on Soundtrack, Anders sounded a bit like Jon Davis. No so on this). This is truly a classic.(cue flaming)This Message Edited On 11.04.06

Come Clarity is epic, by all means. I sincerely think the song Come Clarity itself is an exquisite song that has all of the style of In Flames, including passionate solos and warm music. It's hard to explain, but In Flames conveys more than just music in their songs, it really does have a meaning behind it, and that's not something all bands can deliver. I'll support this as being 5/5 'till the day I die.

This album starts off great and then slowly fades into drowning its own sound out. I was really excited when I first put this cd in. I thought it was just going to get better but it didn't. Unfortunately there are more songs that I didn't care for than the ones I liked.

I really like this album. It's by no means a return to Whoracle, but a nice and logical progression from their past few albums (especially with Anders' vocals, I personally love them, except for on Reflect the Storm).

Yeah, this is really good stuff. Crawl Through Knives is ever so sweet. All in all, somewhere between a 4 and a 4.5 for me.This Message Edited On 11.28.06

I can see that many of you hate this album and the current stuff of In Flames.

In my opinion, this CD is an epic masterpice. I totally love it. Every song, but there are som standouts. The first time I heard the song "Come Clarity", I could not belive what i heard. It was so brilliant.

I have to admit that i really like STYE too..

Favorties: Dead End, Leeches, Reflect The Storm, Come Clarity and CTKThis Message Edited On 12.28.06

Meh album, on par with R2R... In Flames is never going to go back to a Clayman or TJR level.

Dead End, Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone, and the title track are good songs though. Versus Terminus isn't all that bad either.

I actually prefer this to TJR. They're both better than STYE, but that wasn't that bad either.

Dead End, Come Clarity, Leeches, Take this Life and CTK are all awesome.

STYE was actually the biggest piece of crap ever put out by In Flames, but it has Evil in a Closet on it, so they are forgiven.

In Flames is not exactly my favorite band anymore. They took the sound that made them what they were and sort of mutilated it into something mainstream. This CD will NEVER be a classic, it will NEVER be another Jester Race or Whoracle. Truth be told, I believe In Flames will NEVER be what they were, and that truly is a shame.

Oh and I dont mean to bash your review here, but you saying this is the best album of their career is almost a sin. Listen to Whoracle and The Jester Race and tell me that this is better.... I dont think so...This Message Edited On 12.30.06

i cant see why you say this is a classic. it's okay, and it's a lot better than Soundtrack to Your Escape, but it's definately not that great.
