Not very many and they were likely released in a short amount of time.

well yeah but it's a relatively new genre, it's not like it has a 40 year history or anything.

It's been around for twenty years. The relatively inactive Ampere (many splits but only two albums and little touring) and Envy are the only two bands I can think of that have lasted many years.

Screamo bands never last.

Many actually do (e.g: Raein, Daitro, Suis La Lune, ect...); but if you're implying too many break up, definitely agree. Way too many good emo bands have broken up.

shows have been the number one source of stress for all of us, we don't get along well, plus i personally don't enjoy playing live to begin with. with the exception of one member who shall not be named, we all work, two of us have plans to go back to school in spring semester, and we're all pretty much financially strapped. we all want to put out another album because it's almost done being written, we're currently at 9 songs, and we all think it's our best stuff. we might split afterwards, we might keep going, we might move. we're just trying to take away all the undue stressors so the record actually sees the light of day. that's the only thing that we really care about. if it goes to shit we all have other projects. hans and ryan play shows about twice a week in their band Trap Her Keep Her, our bassist Stephen has recently gotten his formerly defunct semi-sceney post-hardcore band Main Street Cinema back going, and I have two black metal projects and a doom project as well as an off an on powerviolence band with the singer of Trap Her Keep Her and Ryan.

Adding onto your list, auber: Funeral Diner, Hot Cross, Pianos Become the Teeth, I Hate Myself, We Were Skeletons, Comadre, Yaphet Kotto, Touche Amore, Kite Flying Society, You and I, and Antioch Arrow are all American emo bands with more than 2 releases.

it depends on whether we're talking about any release or just full-length LPs, but yeah if it's the former then those would apply.

Well, if we're talking about the latter, most of the bands I listed still work.
