"FAR BEHIND MY BODY ROY

FOR ME NO MORE TOMORROW

FEAR OR PAIN I KNOW NOT

AND YET I'M FILLED WITH SORROW

I'M AT THE GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATES"

I was listening to that song and i saw that comment exactly at the time that the singer was singing this...Magic exists for real

Τhis one and "The Red In The Sky Is Ours" are great albums but i never was a big fan of "With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness"

The best Death metal EP and the best release by At The Gates.

Souls Of The Evil Departed is one of the greatest openers of all time. Your ears will be assaulted by the most horrifying and twisted riffs ever, courtesy of Alf Svensson. The intro riff and the squeal at 0:27 are killer.

The entire album is just a nonstop barrage of quality riffs. With those riffs comes a very eerie and disturbing atmosphere, which is better than many death and black metal bands. Plenty of chaotic moments, tempo changes, and the best drum performance Jonas Björler has ever given. The lyrics are brilliant and the vocal pacing is perfect.

Tomas Lindberg gives one of the greatest vocal performances in death metal. Very emotion-filled, he screams as if he is in constant pain. Just listen to the opening scream on the title track. Other great moments are 2:33 on Souls Of The Evil Departed, 3:49 on All Life Ends, and a killer scream on City Of Screaming Statues at 3:40 followed by the sickest riff.

While 'The Red in the Sky Is Ours' is a magnificent album, the band only re-recorded one out of the four classic tracks from Gardens. If the debut album had the production of Gardens of Grief and certain tracks were cut (get rid of Scar and Night Comes, Blood Black), you would have the ultimate ATG release.

Why did at the gates go from their awesome early work to bland, boring, weak modern melo death band that they are now?

Honestly what happened to this band?
