Actually know some of their songs. Startoucher was certainly one of them. I like a lot of ambient and instrumental music. A friend would play Biosphere and stuff like that off youtube and I stumbled upon my own stuff I liked and off it goes.

But fr I'm not sure what I think yet. The production is incredible but I feel like some of the organic sound of the original songs is lost. Like Chukhung: the alt version sounds fantastic but it loses that cavernous sound the original had. Gotta listen more

Wasnt aware of them until i saw tweegma's october list. Apparently there's a substrata2 remaster double cd from 2001 i never heard either thats really good, so ill go there first.

iirc the substrata2 thing is just substrata packaged with a soundtrack he did for man with a movie camera. this new release is the first “alternative” version of this album to exist.
