every burial song has these drums that go doo doo dwoom doo doo dwoom over and over /music project

Everyone says that about the drums, but if you actually listen closely you hear variations and other subtle levels of percussion that differ in every song, most of his tracks are based off the same two-step rhythm but that doesn't make all the drums the same

I love his drums, they always sound so fucking good. On another note, the P4K review for this was actually the most decent review I've read on there in years, rating obvs way too low though (8.7 pfffftttt)

Read p4k review, or go and read RA's review (and then maybe FACT's)
Hmmmm

Agree on both points. I felt that the reviewer wrote it with a higher rating in mind but the staff consensus at the Pitchfork office was lower.

Disagree with this line:
The amount of dialog around Burial can be a little hard to swallow sometimes, especially when the guy himself seems so resistant-- or at least indifferent-- to the ongoing intellectualization of his music.
Choosing not to do endless amounts of interviews doesn't make you indifferent about the subject, or hesitant to talk about it. He's always stated that it's all about the music, not him. His music is all about interpretation, and for him to come out and say "oh, this song is about...." would be closing the door on all those possibilities
