I wish I knew what direction the lyrics are going in for the next album. Only Arif knows, since he's writing them, and I feel like a major douche asking him hah. Still, he writes really solid lyrics, so I'm stoked.
I mean, he wrote "I Am Dmitri Karamazov and the World is my Father" when he was like 16, which is nuts.

I can't wait for the new shit. Rody's toying a lot with his range, so I imagine he'll do lots of growling (he's developed it) and some freaky high stuff and whatnot. I actually just got back from their show (didn't go in though, sold out).

I actually don't mind his vocals. They're alot less monotonous than alot of screaming tbqh. I definatly think that the latter half of the album is superior to the first half, and has an immense playback value.

the show in toronto was amazing. the new songs sound really fucking good. Except the openning bands kinda sucked...Rody said it best "if i hear one more fucking breakdown after this tour ....' well i forgot what he said next but it was an awesome show.

Protest the Hero definitely has blatant breakdowns. Turn Soonest to the Sea would be a prime example.

But they have a tendency to play with bands that write songs around breakdowns, so that's why he'd say that. Actually, they usually tour with pretty atrocious acts.

atleast during protests breakdowns the lead guitar does something interesting over it. I think the worst band protest toured with that i saw was I Hate Sally, now that was atrocious.
