What a great conversation I've been missing.

yeah I bought this cd, and yes they are emo, I regret ever buying it, it just wasn't good no matter what genre you put it in, just a little too mainstream for my taste
|

this album is terrible, trust me I bought it, and a complete waste of fifteen bucks might I add, emo or not everyone thinks they're great, but if you hear anything besides the singles you'll hate them too

Emo that doesn't scream wrist slitter is also known as lemo. Panic at the Disco, My Chemical Romance fit under this category.

They are too emo. How many pop punkers attempt artistic lyrics and song titles ? Not that FOB pulls it off well though... Emo that doesn't scream wrist slitter is also known as lemo. Panic at the Disco, My Chemical Romance fit under this category. Most of you probably think emo has to be hard or related to the screamo faction, but the first emos played a softer kind of music. And lemo is synanomous with radio-friendly so yes, back to my first statement, Fall Out Boy is emo pop.
Lookie here! We have an emo historian! Seriously, please don't make comments like this unless you want to annoy the shit out of the other users, which you are succeeding at currently.

It's funny how three months ago on this site the people who had no clue what emo was and thought it was music like Hawthorne Heights, or Fall Out Boy only said things like, "ya, its emo cause they sing about cutting themselves", but now the idiots have developed themselves into something that actually portrays themselves like they know what they're talking about...
...even though they don't.

Too mainstream for your taste? Ha. You just said that American Idiot was one of the greatest albums ever in that review. And how is someting 'too mainstream' for taste?

So you're saying I rated this based on the singles only?
Not even, the singles got old as crap, I rated this based on the fact that it was different from everything else I was listening to at the time.

can i just say something a quick second here, not exactly relating to FOB, but relating to some of the comments ppl are leaving? i don't understand how you can all talk about cutting so casually. not all "emo" ppl cut and not all "cutters" are 'emo'. i used to cut, it's nothing to take lightly. it's a real problem. cutting is hell, it really is. i had to work so hard to stop and it was the worst experience of my laugh. i haven't cut in a year now, and i'm not planning on it, but it is a real problem. please don't claim you cut if you don't and please don't cut to try to fit in. ppl who actually struggle with cutting aren't proud of it, they do what they can to hide it.
i'm sorry, i just needed to throw that out there
and i'm not a FOB fan.

You can edit your comments, but it's not allowed to stray off topic in the public forum. Don't take these guys so seriously. I admit that most of them are morons, but they'll probably attack you for it.
