Yes go for it! There are quite some similarities. It is less grandiose, a little more straightforward, but has many bangers, as per usual really. A fun record for sure!
RE Dani-rap: Same goes for Serpent Tongue and Carrion, two other highlights.
A storm slid in
Borne by carnal winds
The upper ether thinned
And therein sat abominations
Satan seated there
Savouring the reek of desolation
Their dank despair
Moved His speech to leech the air
"Behold the golden door
To paradise is lost
So praise Me as you raised your Lord
And I shall thaw this gnawing frost"

Haha yes Trif, I’ve been saying for years that Dani has flows like a rapper, he spits out some incredible lines on this with mad alliteration and some insane highs and lows with his voice. The guy is such a huge talent vocally and lyrically it’s a shame he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves outside of fans.

Yeah Metz Nymphetmine has some bangers too. Swansong for a raven is top 10 COF and Guilded Cunt is a huge way to kick off the album!

It seems we agree on many things Cradle, Shemson!
"mad alliteration" super true.
"The guy is such a huge talent vocally and lyrically it’s a shame he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves outside of fans." even more true!

I used to say those highs Dani did on this album at the end of lines were like when guitarist threw in pinched harmonics
A particularly good example is on the section below when he says ‘art’ in Babylon AD and I’ll post the verse because it’s damn poetry again!
Eyes of fire that set all life aflame
Lights that surpassed art
In sight, that no intense device of pain
Could prise their secrets from my heart

It’s one of those albums that I can always understand when people say they don’t dig it but I kind of feel sorry for them for not leaving the experience with a massive grin

Oh man absolutely! Many, many of my fave Cradle tracks are here. It's so over the top but has Dani in his prime, both lyrically and vocally, lots of tasty riffing, drumming, etc.
Yeah, this has re-established itself in my top 3 even probably. Loved it when I first got into them, it then slipped behind a bit, but it has resurfaced lately. "a massive grin" is right too, something Cradle have been pretty good at, I'd say it's one of their better qualities even.

Whoever said they haven't checked Nymphetamine, report back! I personally would take that over Midian at this point (don't crucify me hommiez) and can't for the life of me see why it isn't more highly regarded. Dani's best vocal performance imo and god-riffs-galore. Even the T/T has been hitting me harder lately - it really is a rush.

Yep, Nymph is excellent. I think it is a tiiiiiiny bit too long, but that's about my only gripe with it really. Yet another Cradle banger, they've got so many of those.

I never really cared for this album THAT much, but I find myself enjoying it more and more as the years go on.
Nyphetamine is very underrated (a product of it coming out during their commercial heights) and easily Dani's best vox performance imo. Not better as an album than Midian though :]
