Doubt it could beat Disintegration but I just downloaded this the other day so we'll see

It has a lot less Robert Smith on it so that goes on the positives column to start with

What's wrong with Robert Smith?

I'm joking, Smith is ok

This is very similar to 'Disintegration' in places - some of this sounds like slowed down skeletal Cure songs.

Just always felt Disintegration was slightly overrated and only discovering this recently I can't believe how underrated it is by comparison.

I mean 'Disintegration' has ten times as many votes here

If this has the intensity that Disintegration has I'll probably 5 this too.

This is more intense than Disintegration for me. That album is more goth and campy (not necessarily in a bad way) but I find this far more intense.

This is like a better version of 'same deep water' holding you under the bath water ten times longer

suppose atmospherically they share a lot, just stylistically they're pretty different

i don't really find this intense at all tho (other than lullaby maybe), pretty much the opposite in that it relaxes me like nothing else. i put this on before bed a lot and i'm usually comatose by the time the first song ends

'Down' to 'Rope' is the most intense section so maybe if you keep falling asleep before those then you're dodging that intensity Chorts

I have 'Disintegration' sat on a 4 so I definitely consider it an excellent album btw

Just finished my first spin of this, my first Low and my first full slowcore album too. Quite enjoyed it but I'm not blown away so far.

Hope it grows, I've listened to a lot of slowcore/sad indie and so far I'm saying this is the pinnacle lol

It feels like a grower for sure, I'll have to focus on the lyrics too.

Regarding slowcore, I feel like it has the potential to to become one of my favorite styles but I'd never felt compelled to check it out, props to Doof for giving me the shout on this.
