Oh here's Malleus to tell us how rappers aren't SHiT if they can't rap over a shitty boom bap beat.
Teach us, master.

er i'll give it one more spin. i do like that one part on Peso with the alphabet..that was clever
|
| |
gabe seriously I like a lot of the things you say, because people are fucking stupid about rap but come on
there's a point where trying to be completely contrarian to everything malleus says makes you sound dumb
asap is not a "fantastic emcee" as you say, even if it's all about flow, it's not like he just has this amazing buttery sexy flow

hey guys look i can put together some catchy hooks over screw voices and bangin beats give me second rate mike jones success
|
| |
"Spanish Sophie with a half a kilo by her cho-cho
Blow it out your culo, who got dough on the smoke though
My partner had cinco now we blowin' on that ocho"
but even still it ain't about the wordplay. ASAP's appeal is kind of like a mixture between the appeal of Curren$y and a lot of 90s Southern gangsta rappers.

| |
I don't think he's a fantastic emcee, I do think the rapping is fantastic in terms of flow, which is what I was trying to say. Overall his rapping is just pretty good.

backpedal harder?
|
| |
is currensy a fantastic emcee?
asap isn't good just because he rhymed densely one time. he has his merits, he's easy to listen to, has a flow that suits that beats he chooses, and that's about it. sorry but malleus is more in the right this time
|
| |
lol okay Malleus.

I don't think he's a fantastic emcee, I do think the rapping is fantastic in terms of flow, which is what I was trying to say. Overall his rapping is just pretty good.
but
Also, it rustles my jimmies when people only give Clams credit for the album because ASAP's a fantastic emcee
|
| |
@Idnuf: I never said either were fantastic emcees, I was saying how ASAP had a lot of Curren$y appeal.
If we were just rating rappers overall and not the music they made, I'd probably give A$AP a 3.5 and
Drake a 2, but the songs they release still are >>>>>>>>
EDIT: Ohshit I forgot I made that post forever ago. Yeah I was totally exaggerating then because it
made me miffed when people thought the only positives to this mixtape was the production and I've got
a hard-on for Rocky.
|
| |
see my last post
EDIT: okay yeah, fair enough
|
| |
palace, peso, wassup, keep it g, houston old head, demons, out of this world cmon this shit is awesome
|
| |
the one part where asap's rapping annoys me is when he's all like "FUCK A METROSEXUAL SUCK A DICK I'M DISRESPECTFUL" cuz even tho im not like a pusher for political correctness in rap but that's just sorta annoying

"palace, peso, wassup, keep it g, houston old head, demons, out of this world cmon this shit is awesome"
pretty sure we know whats on the mixtape
|
| |
yeah cuz people dont use discussion forums to talk about which songs are their favorites ever, oh wait yeaeh they do, go back to rapping shittily into a five dollar mic or whatever you moron
|
| |
Honestly I don't like Palace very much. The beat is probably one of my least favorite Clams Casino beats. It just feels like sloppy/corny attempt at being "epic-sounding", though the more Bone Thugs verse at the end is pretty dope.
The tracks I don't really care for (for the most part, at least) are Palace, Acid Drip and Demons.
I used to not like Roll One Up until I noticed that it has this really cool Latin influence and that sing-song flow is unnnf.
|
| |
palace is probably my least favorite of Those I Mentioned but it's still awesome, I love the when the drums sorta drop out and that really cool sample is pushed to the front. demons is awesome though i love what asap does vocally with the beat during the chorus. thinkin bout ya thinkin bout ya add it to ya thoughts
