Some really awesome tracks like Explore, Be Curious but it didn't feel very interesting past the first half. By no means bad but I wonder if his other material is much better?

I think this is his best of the more chill side he likes to play around with
Depends on what you are looking for from him, I guess

concise chill for sure, tho beacons and subsume both probably have moments that exceed this in general.

I can get on board with that
Except for the T/t and Explore. Both are so gorgeous
Originally I didn't think a whole lot of this and kinda felt like it was incomplete except for a few key tracks, most likely the ones I already mentioned. It took a while for me to really appreciate all of it

Well, it's obvious that many of these ratings are influenced by fans of Cloudkicker's old metal sound who can't appreciate change. I for one think this is a good album. Sure, it's not on the same level as Beacons but the beauty of this album cannot be understated. He is exploring post-rock and folk here and it just works wonderfully. I'm glad that the guy is not afraid to change his sound and try different things and this album goes to show that doing just that can work.
