Undoubtedly At the drive-in's best album-Not only that, but for me one of the best Post-Hardcore releases I've ever heard. The musicianship here is nothing short of stunning, and the band really know how to keep each song varied enough to be interesting. There are the more passionate likes of 'Invalid litter dept.' (my personal favourite from this album) and 'One armed scissor', then there are the tenser songs such as 'Enfilade' and beautiful closer 'None-zero possibility'. Not only that, but the amount of progression this band had made from the start of their career to this, their last album, is similar to that of the progression of The mars volta (excuse me for comparing the two, but it can't be ignored), and songs such as 'Sleepwalk capsules' prove that. It makes me wonder what direction this band would head in had they stayed together.

Fair points, this is great but there is something that has always struck me about this band being ridiculously stylized and as a result takes the edge off the whole thing.

they're not that stylized when compared to other bands in the genre, let alone in general
sure you could say it's mostly style over substance (Cedric's lyrics are just lol), but for the most part they are very straight forward
