Exactly. And so it takes you by surprise every time after you've let the droning finally just wash around you and then suddenly ur like "Holy fuck" and that's so much more unexpected and gratifying than music where it does that off the bat

yea cultivating and honing patience in music can be really rewarding. i remember just feeling patently bored with ambient and drone for a while, at which point i relegated that sort of music to the background as i read or did homework.. and then i guess it just clicked one day and i started focusing on it and appreciating it more, not as a backdrop but for what it was. it's cool when something can be gained from one piece of music in neglect and in focus.

and in film. its the same for me. when they get to that same kind of music and film its more of a world than it is just an "album" you know what i mean? the soundtrack to a musical world is going to build itself slowly.

becomes more of a world or the experience presented in itself as it unfolds. rounding it back to this, Feedbacker may take time to unfold but once it opens... oh man.

ya has more of a holistic, unified ethos. it's interesting comparing music to film actually. hadn't really considered that. i wish i knew more about film.

@hal1 ok cool. well first off, Lapalux's new album Ruinism
moving on...
listen to Francis Harris: Lostfound
that song also ended the movie "The Bad Batch" by one of the greatest new directors to the scene, a beautiful iranian woman. and you find this and you reflect back and the music tells a story instead of just singing its song. thats the kind of stuff that transcends other music to me. the stuff that goes beyond just being an album and treads into being a story, a vivid one at that. so this song is a really perfect example of that, especilly if u go back and listen to the album outside of the film . but yes also dat lapalux alb furreal
the same film had darkside and black light smoke in the soundtrack as well. but yeah its like the reverse engineer, where you see the music sculpting the film and not the other way around

cool cool i'll look those up and try to dload the film. i do this weird thing with albums i really love where i sort of subconsciously connect them to important memories and feelings and events in my life without even meaning to.. or maybe that's just the nature of our connection to some music idk. but in that way i guess they become almost woven into some kind of narrative and it certainly lends power and efficacy to the music. interesting stuff tho , thanks.
