a shame this didn't live up to their older stuff for me but other people seem to like it. I think nostalgia may be a factor.

Nah honestly I expected this to be really bad, it was a surprising delight for me. It has its flaws but I genuinely enjoy a ton of stuff about this album

However, I'm sure that nostalgia has its place in many peoples' minds ;]

Kiedis isn't the greatest vocalist, but he's very much a love-him-or-hate-him vocalist. There are tons of those out there. Trying to brainwash people who like him into hating him is sorta dumb.



But beyond the vocals (like them or hate them) there is some cool stuff here. A few of the songs are different than what they've done before, so saying that they "don't have any ideas" is just a terrible troll.
