I already listened to Accelerated Evolution and Physicist and I really dig those. Also random songs from DTP and SYL. Some asshole on here said Ghost was the best album (was that you Lucca?) and I thought I was in for a treat today and I got trolled hard. I really didn't like the album on first listen, it was way too airy and lacking substance and the femme vocals did nothing for me. What should I listen to next? I don't really feel like listening to SYL though, I think I might check out his newer stuff.

I'm not sure how you've managed to not hear Ocean Machine and Terria yet but you need to check those out before anything else. They're his best albums along with SYL's City.

Yeah, those too. Addicted especially. Deconstruction is loved by some and hated by others.

I'm also a big fan of Ki. Has some of Devy's best material.

"I don't really feel like listening to SYL though"

Duuuuuuude you love Meshuggah, Gojira and Ministry right? SYL is practically made for you. If you really wanna hold off, Ocean Machine is possibly his ultimate classic (even though he has about 4). That's what got me into him; Terria is a lot to take in on first (or even 2nd/3rd tbh) listen.

i like meshug and gojira but not really syl either so it's not that weird, just unfortunate. This album is great tho, tho overlong. Check deconstruction and addicted [123]

Even though they all approach it in completely different but equally crushing ways, I always considered those 3 bands to have a very similar artistic vision, which is I guess why I group them and what serves as the common appeal. Though Meshugg/SYL > Gojira

I wouldn't really compare SYL to Meshuggah or Gojira tbh. They're more like a zanier version of Fear Factory.

I just never got too into the SYL songs I've heard. I've had a friend trying to get me repeatedly into Devy for years to no avail, now that I lost him I'm finally falling in love with Devy haha. All it took was some live performances really. Gonna check these recommends for sure.
