Don't know what the hell Adam was smoking when he listened to the album and then did this review. This album is awesome. The lyrics, vocals, musicianship, and tempo changes are all better on this album than on Constellations. The experimentation, though mild, has added a lot to their overall sound.

I like this better than constellations so far too. They're pretty close for me.

Ehh Existence, The Escape Artist, Paradox, and Rationalist are all just ok to good for me. It's an awesome album though. I'll see how this one ages on me.

The first three songs on this album don't really do anything for me, but I think everything after that is better than most of the stuff on Constellations, so I sorta WANT to say this better but I'm not sure I can because I enjoyed every single track on Constellations. Dammit ABR why you put filler in what coulda been your best release.

After another listen I have to lower my grade to a 3. The album is good but lacks emotion or any real eye openers, besides "Carpe Diem" (finally some high screams, which are great) which earns above a 5 from me if it were a single on its own CD. Pangea was also pretty good, and the rest of the album pretty decent as well. 3/5 because I'm a mut, more into melodic metalcore than old school but again this album has some good songs.

the heavier parts are very reminiscent of constellations but the cleaner sections are certaintly more inventive and interesting this time around. Still on first listen this isnt anywhere near constellations, i'd say 3.5 for now.

Let's see...

Empire was cool, Cutting the Ties was ok, Pangea had a cool intro, 40 Nights was pretty bad ass, Poor Millionaire was good, bout it for me.

It's just boring. I mean 7a7p was more dynamic in this genre like 50 yrs ago.

I mean, how do they not know by now that they need to make a conscious effort to vary their sound. These guys are all good musicians, so it's just kind of boggling. It's like they're purposefully ignorant to the state of their genre and anything written about them. I guess god commanded them to stay the course.
