Never really gave these guys a chance. Is this a good album to start with?

It's probably best to just go in order of release date

Pensacola has been my favourite for awhile now, 'It's been 37 years, and I am nothing but a bank!' Listened to this album over 60 times this week, might 5 it soon

It may actually be the best one to start with. It is the most accessible, and probably the best overall (although Mean Everything to Nothing is up there too)

Great review Sowing I really dig the album but calling it the best in 5 years seems like a pretty big stretch.

The BBC review of this record really irks me, but it's part of a trend that I've started noticing in their music journalism; anything that's not entirely mainstream is judged primarily on the basis of whether it will be a breakthrough hit that propels them onto MTV, basically. It's very praising of the album in general, but it irritates me that they take such a popularity-centric approach to their criticism.

Diver also calls 'April Fool' one of the best tracks of the band's career which is just... odd.

I honestly think the stretch between 7 and 9 is the best on the record, I also absolutely adore Mighty and Deer, but it should be evident from my rating and review that I think it's overall pretty damn special.

I mean, its all pretty good, but those two songs are really fucking exceptional. Probably cause I love epic melodic songs (title track), and of course songs that rock the fuck out (April Fool)

I'm really taking a shining to the album as a whole. It's no METN, but pretty much no record is.

It's all about vinyl. I'm over buying CDs.
