Go straight to DH(more tech thrash) and Nothingface (more prog metal), their two best albums.

In an interview with Away, I saw him say that they lifted a bit from the Max Max 2: The Road Warrior soundtrack. I was really curious about this so I looked into it and sure enough, compare about 0:32 to 0:41 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLbncYmCXnw to about 0:12 to 0:22 in Forgotten In Space off this album.

Hard to believe this came out the same year as Scream Bloody Gore. I wonder if Immortal were influenced by Voivod.

An excellent album from an excellent band! "Tornado", "Ravenous Medicine" and the title-track fuckin' kill it! Not quite the best production, almost there, but it needs to be a bit more clearer!

Overall though, a true thrash metal album!

This might be the first prog metal album ever made, excluding all that proto prog metal stuff like Rush and early Queensryche (and even then, early Queensryche really wasn't that proggy)

Dimension Hatross and Outer Limits are their best imo but Voivod is the greatest band of all times so it's not a big deal which one is slightly more of a masterpiece than the other

This is thrash not prog
First proper prog metal album is "no exit" by fates warning
Before that album fates were more of iron maiden worship band..also watchtower's energetic disassembly was hailed as prog metal but its actually still rooted in thethrash metal scene just like this album

Hovse dropping the truths
No exit rules but I like Maiden worship fates the most actually
Has more emotion

It does have some prog elements but still not a prog metal release I mean if you jammed "nothingface" you will get my idea
