If you were really going to go out on a limb here and call 'feral' a "dubstep creeper" why wouldn't you mention the obvious influence as opposed to Burial and Flylo? Actress is the only thing 'Feral' even slightly resembles
Still waiting for a response on this Power Town

cuz the song reminded me of burial

How is that enough to place it in a genre it doesn't belong in?

the problem with the average sputnik user is that anything below a 4 is judged as a disappointment

@ dev: because the song reminded me of burial, my favorite artist in that genre. if i put "sounds like
a" before "dubstep creeper" would that make that much of a difference? not that i would because it
would ruin the language, im just wondering.

I might be alone on this, but this wasn't a grower for me. I loved it on my first listen and I still do.

Sure Thom posted up that amongst all the stuff he was listening to that Burial was one, and that Actress was another one, but to me those were just artists he/the band have used to create that kind of claustrophobic and slightly wonky bass that you can hear in 'Feral'. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is a dubstep track, because it isn't. I think saying that it sounds like its been influenced by Burial is fine, because it is, but to say anymore is a bit of a stretch. Burial, and Untrue aren't exactly the archetypal sound for dubstep anyway

okay that's fair. I admit, I'm using the term to specifically reference Burial, and the review only connects "Feral" to him (I mention him and Untrue in the same paragraph, I think even in the same sentence as the quote in question).

I completely agree with the whole below a 4 thing. There are a lot of 3.5s and 3s that I still freaking enjoy.

yeah i hate when people rate something a 3 and are like 'album sucks'

Also have I set the record for the most negative soundoffs directed at a user?
|

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going on a "you're using the term dubstep wrong" tirade or anything, I just think it is more a very loose influence than anything resembling a direct comparison

5, really rabbit.

ow ya I like this as much as OKC or In Rainbows, and more than Hail to the Thief (though Wolf at the door and there, there are better songs than anything here).
