I'd rather have a decent more unique vocalist, then a vocalist whom sounds like every single other vocalist in the genre....get of my dick.

Honestly by the time the re release came out i played out rareform so bad i didn't want to go near it. The vocals may be a tad better but they took out fun vocal transitions and he didnt put his own spin on anything.

It's funny, the vocals didn't bother me one bit on the original or even on their first album. It was the production that ruined it, particularly on the original Rareform. With the re-release, the overall sound was soooooo much better; I could have lived with either vocalist tbh.

I guess if the re release came out before the original i would have a better appreciation for it, if that makes any sense.

Haha, I see your point. But then it wouldn't be considered a re-release at all. Hell, there would never have been a re-release! But yeah, you know what I mean.

re-release was infinitely better. i did like some of the vocal transitions in the original but the new vocalist is easily better. also, the production on the original was one of the worst i've ever heard, whereas the re-release was actually relatively well produced.

that said, in dreams is a bit disappointing but there's still plenty of good shit on here

"SMOKE WEED.
LET POLYRHYTHMS DESTROY."

That's honestly all I needed to hear. Downloading now.

honestly i think the new vocalist just sounds like the old vocalist got better and i liked the old vocalist's lyrics a lot better as well as his transitions. the new vocalist just has some laughable lines that he repeats and stuff. but also, musically, i dont think this stacks up to rareform. to me it sounded like theey were trying to go too djent and it sounded a little forced. not a bad album but i just felt like they could do better

Didn't like "Forging a Future Self", love this one. Should I get Rareform?

After hearing the first two songs from the Rareform Re-Release I had to downgrade this to a 3.5.

Rareform is king to this. Aspirations with the og vocalist is one of the better songs...ever. This cd isn't bad though. The intro track "my frailty" is growing on me very fast.

Lowering my rating for this, it is my least favorite by them and a big disappointment . No memorable value at all to me tbh. I'm just gonna listen to their older stuff.

I can see this wearing off in time. But for now, it remains.
