Why do people hate underoath again? I always thought they were a pretty consistently good band. They dont rehash too much, they clearly try something different with each album and their music is technically sound as far as I can tell. So is it just a stupid internet backlash kind of thing or what

Where prior releases juxtaposed light and dark in a make shift cosmic power play of the forces of good and evil that made certain that the listener left with their mind fixed on the positive, Disambiguation removes this dichotomy from the fold and dives face first into the abyss.
I disagree with this. I believe the music on Lost in the Sound of Separation perfectly captured an apocalyptic sound in a way I'd never heard music do before, in the way that it was so desperately heavy and dismal yet occasionally melodic and hopeful, that it's a masterpiece for me. This, I feel, has more of the contrasting light and dark that aren't as one fluid atmosphere.

one, they were at one time considered Christian so idiots flame them for that, then there is their typical idiot fans that look like scene fags (and i mean fags as in morons), especially the fangirls, then their are the fucktards that say stupid shit like "death to real metal" like underoath go around self-proclaiming themselves as metal gods or something.

They're still considered to be Christian.

You get the rest of that annoying shit with any semi- to super-popular band though.

"They're still considered to be Christian." I thought Aaron was the only one that wanted to call them Christian. I mean, I didn't notice any christian lyrics on this album, but I haven't listened to it a bunch yet either

Not to mention people hate bands just because they are popular.

Great review man, i love that you were able to sum it up without making it rediculous long.

Underoath is one of those bands that took over the scene, so obviously there are going to be haters.. personally i've always been a fan. they have kept evolving, but stayed true to their sound. No i'm not christian, but they don't really write from a directly christian POV.

Prada can easily been seen as christian from first listen, but Underoath keeps it a little more low key. I'm just glad that with Aaron's departure, they strove to break the boundaries that they had set before.

in all, my new favorite underoath album.
