Many will disagree with me on this, but i put this in with Red- Innocence & Instinct, Linkin Park- Meteora, Disturbed- Indestructible, and Chevelle- Scifi Crimes as mainstream rock golden albums for hit singles potential, certainly in regards to 2000s rock radio anyway.
Add Evans Blue- The Pursuit Begins, Earshot- Two, Lostprophets- Start Something, and TFK- Welcome To The Masquerade to the list and you have my attention

^^^ The Fake Sound of Progress or nothing (preferably nothing, given his indiscretions).
The Diary of Jane is a great song off this, although I'll admit I never gave the whole album much attention.

Ever since I discovered these guys in the early 2010’s, I always held this album up as their best. But nowadays I gravitate towards Saturate more. It’s such a fun, hard record

It's a tolerable record. It could rank higher it weren't a Diary of Jane + 8 completely identical tracks, as sterile as it gets.

Diary wouldn't even crack my top 5 here tbh

Meteora and Indestructible are by leaps and bounds tighter than this, every track a hit. Here it's more like mehcore. Many songs begin promising, but as soon as the first note of Ben's gay voice hits, it's an instant turnoff.

That album cover is something an edgy teenager with zero Photoshop skills would concoct in an hour for his myspace page.

this aint the colour and the shape thread

anyone else notice how nearly every breaking benjamin song is structured the same way?
intro (post-chorus) / verse / pre-chorus / chorus / post-chorus / verse / pre-chorus / chorus / bridge / chorus / post-chorus
ive never heard a band with such a formulaic approach to songwriting. not really complaining, it kinda works for them
|

mainstream do be like that
|
| |
these guys take it to another extreme
|
| |
extreme mainstream

Yeah that's almost every mainstream act
|
| |
the intro being the post chorus in every single song? idk about that
|

Album Rating: 2.5
Maybe not but that a lot of mainstream acts follow a formula for almost every song at least
