I find it a little strange to have clarity at a 5 and the rest so much lower (especially Futures) but each to their own I guess.

clarity sounds much more atmospheric and fragile to me than futures. futures is honestly a pretty confident rock album with a lot of hooks while clarity holds a more woe-is-me kinda feeling which is where jim stands out the best imo

Futures has those woe is me moments as well but they're honestly not as maturely written as they are on Clarity. Which is ironic considering how Futures came two albums later. That's not to say Futures isn't a mature album, Futures, The World You Love, Polaris, Night Drive and of course, the best song they've ever written 23, are outstanding songs.

I think 23 is awesome but I don't think it's head and shoulders above all their other songs. I couldn't pick a favourite song though, it all depends on my mood.

Clarity just has a consistency in its organic-ness that no other album they've done can match imo. Futures (and pretty much everything post-Clarity) is great, hooky, alt rock, but you can tell it's written that way. That doesn't discredit it as awesome music, but it doesn't hit as straight to the heart as Clarity does for me.
