such a fun creative album. I lose interest at certain points but further listens might mitigate that factor. great tho. this is such a crazy thing to say but almost feel like jimi is underrated amongst meine peers: Are You Experienced? is one of the greatest debuts period

I was trying to think for five minutes or so of the song that I'm reminded of when I hear the introductory three-note vocal melody in "I can see for miles" and I realized it was evie sands' "I can't let go" which is amazing and I looked her up on sput and she has no page which is criminal
I guess she never really broke through tho

The Who have a legendary drummer, and a legendary bass player, but the way Pete and Roger write songs is so fucking dull that it goes to waste on shitty "epic" piano ballads
I like tons of "boomer shit" including The Who's British invasion peers The Beatles, The Kinks, Donovan, and The Zombies. The Rolling Stones are cool too when I'm in the right mood, but The Who are just so dull.
This quote from Townshend tells all:
"The Who guitarist Pete Townshend responded to reports on his comments about late bandmates Keith Moon and John Entwistle after he said “Thank God they’re gone,” and added that they were “fucking difficult to play with.”

also not a who fan, although/because Who's Next was a huge album in my house growing up
