I would go as far as saying that Death Magnetic = Justice + Black + St. Anger.

Also, Fistful of Metal + Spreading The Disease = Among The Living. And THAT comparison follows the 1+2 rule, AND it works.

"man, i heard gun show on XM and was actually excited for this album... downloaded it, and now i'm bummed."

So you're pretty much the exact opposite of everyone else then.

Ugh, just checked this band out for the first time, and her screams suck. Pretty gay clean vocals, too

I heard 'the gun show' on satellite radio and I was amazed by her voice. Can't erase the grin on my face each time I hear it. So I bought the album and it's not bad at all. First three songs are excellent, then I will need more listens to enjoy the rest. So far it would be a 3.

And many - including myself - prefer exactly the opposite type of tracks. That's the problem with the album; it tries to balance, but only segregates.

Bullet for My Valentine kinda fit.

The Poison + Scream Aim Fire = Fever

And no, Fever isn't brilliant, but it's an idea...

And anyway, this is my favourite ITM album. The title track and Just Drive are just... winning.

'Just Drive' is the song where they get closest to getting the balance just right.

Yes, what about it.

They're actually touring down under later in the year, so may check her out. Them.. May check them out.

Would sound like the perfect band for Download or something like that.

Yeah, mostly why I'm asking. But you never know... Sometimes, it depends on whether these kinds of singers feel the need to scream over the music.

I'm hoping they get announced for Sonisphere.

Apparently they're a bit hit and miss live, but I'd still like to see them one day.

Agreed. I reckon it could depend on how the sound is mixed... because if Maria had to try & sing over the music, I could see it ending up a disaster.

By the way, I completely agree with you about the vinyl comparison. I personally prefer The Gunshow to Blazin', but there you go.

Yeah, it would not actually surprise me if some (not many, but some) bands still keep a 2 side mentality when making albums.

If so, I'm pretty neutral on it. I don't think it has to be a positive or negative.

Maria is incredible live. Great band. This is their best album too.
