I'm kind of disappointed with this one. Imo, Horizons blew this way out of the water. The guitars are what disappointed me the most. If they cut the breakdowns down some (or even completely) I would probably like them a lot more. BUT i dont see it happening. At least they do a decent job (most of the time) on them.

Dont get me wrong, I still like the album, but the over-done, over-rated, over-satured chugga chug breakdowns need to stop. Not only with PWD, but everyone. If your going to do breakdowns; make them count and original.

dissapointing. the only good songs are sleepwalker, pressures, deliver me, karma has one cool part in it, and home is for the heartless. the rest are either boring as hell or just ok. killing with a smile had the same feeling as this one, just a little more generic and mediocre.

I'm enjoying this a lot. Especially "Home is for the Heartless". Although I feel like their work has been declining steadily since KWAS.

If they just let Winston do more lows, I'd probably bump this up to a 3.5.

I heard one song from this on a compilation and enjoyed it, so I'll probably check this out. Good review.

thing I realised from this review:

BREAKDOWN HATERS GONNA HATE.(breakdowns)

not me.after horizons, which I clearly didn't like(contrary to killing with a smile, which I loved),I expected another mediocre release, but, they proved me wrong.a strong welcome with "unrest" and "sleepwalker",a melodic break with"alone",and personally, the highlight of the album is the breakdown at 2:25 of karma(unbe-fuckin-lievable),and the formula of "home is for the heartless"(ya know, chant vocals etc.)

Finally,I totally disagree with the last paragraph, but it's just my opinion.

I guess I should have said not just"from this review" but also from the comments. Also, with"hate" I meant mainly"dislike".Αll I'm saying is that I think "Deep Blue" is ages better than horizons, either its breakdowns, either its riffs, whatever and does not deserve a"not another useless breakdown" attitude after the release of horizons :S

I lol'd.

“Hollow” throughout its length seems fairly reminiscent of” Gimme a D” off Killing With A Smile albeit seemingly being played with a lower level of enthusiasm, not only making the song come off as bad remake, but an incredibly boring one at that.

I lost all credibility in this review at this point - everything before it sounded alright, then i realised you don't know too much about the band.

Hollow is a rehash of the song Hollow Man off their record - Don't Close Your Eyes. I still find Hollow Man better however.

Fail man, fail.

Karma is a stand-out song for me. The drums leading into the song are pretty sick. Takes me back to KWS days.

Pressures is also quite epic.

Home is for the heartless will be crazy live. Just watch for that.

Everyone of these songs is written for live purposes, maybe the exception being "Alone", which is probably my least favourite on the album. Parkway Drive are not meant to be taken for their CD's, they're meant to be taken for their live performances. Just watch how nuts the crowd goes on each and every one of these breakdowns.

It will be intense.

Sorry I don't keep tabs on terribly mediocre bands. And what does it matter when the first song appeared and it's a re-hashed version of. Song still sucks and still sounds like Gimme A D

Don't Close Your Eyes is their only good release because it's too short to wear thin with repetition.
