You don't have the magic in you. You never did. You don't have it here. So take a good look. It's the last time you're going to see these.

Sorry, kid, more than you'll...

What?

Beat it!

Does this sound like Conversation Piece and No Place? Or is it a whole different beast? I never checked this back in the day

It's not really like either of those records, though they do contain moments here and there that might remind you of this sound. This album is also not vocal centric. The vocals are largely used as another instrument, as opposed to having verses and the like.

Yeah they do have other good songs on all albums, but there isn't one bad song on here for me. The later albums always had a couple of boring ones. I miss the way vocals are used the most... It worked so well with them not being so heavily used.

I love the way the vocals are used here too, especially the inclusion of female vocals. Every song is so spacious and has room to breathe in a way their later material doesnt. Love me some Kurt Travis though.

I am finally giving this a real listen and it's fucking awesome and actually despite being different from the next two albums...it definitely still sounds like them. Cory's screaming parts just sound like they always do (which is a huge plus). Your Ex Marked My Spot could have been on Conversation Piece

I was surprised how most of it was instrumental. I kinda liked that.

Yea they only really had a vocalist role when Kurt joined and Cory did more screaming. And then they made two fantastic albums that I'll always adore
