Fair enough. I don't really care either way, and I do think there are a TON more shitty bands on the melodeath-influenced side than on the mathy/grindy/hardcore-y side, simply because of the fact that it's a more commercially viable sound and is a little easier to pull off.

I actually think the progression from 90s death metal and hardcore to late 90s and 2000s metalcore pretty much mirrors the transition from NWOBHM and hardcore punk to thrash in the late 70s and 80s. I've been planning on making a list to illustrate it for awhile now, but the effort...

"was that the fault of the rip? or was it just poorly produced?"

Loved An Ocean Between Us. FWC and SAS were both about half great half boring and contrived. The songs i've heard from this were great though, will look for.

It feels weird having this rated so high. Gonna go listen to some Discordance Axis to wash off the shame...

This album is incredible. I don't see how anyone could objectively give this lower than a 2.5

Anger and Apathy is a personal fav, but hell the whole album is freaking sick!

Yes, I literally meant 1990.

This is extremely derivative of tons of '90s melodic death metal and metalcore, with the faux-neo-thrash vibe to it. It is nothing stand out whatsoever, or even interesting for that matter.
