Yeah, I find the riffing, the drumming, and the production to be extremely strong on this release compared to others, but you know, that is me.

Yeah, I am going to have to agree with The Wiz on this one. This album is better than Close to a World Below, but that isn't saying the album sucks, but this one is better. They have compiled sweet ass riffs and I think the production on this one is much better.

how many of their albusm have you heard?

i refuse to take anyone who says this is one of their best seriously unless they've heard every album

I've heard them all ; ).
you still need to rate Dawn Of Possession, Here In After, Failures For Gods and Unholy Cult though, which implies you haven't listened to them enough :P

Well, Close to a World Below and this one I have listened to the most out of their Disco. And have given both a lot of spins, but this one wins out every time. It has been years since I have heard the others. However, so, I can back my statement further, I will go through and listen to the other ones again. One, I can say that I like this better than C2AWB. Two, out of their discog, that I have listened to in the past. I have listened to this one the most and keep coming back to it.

haha this has been out for less than 2 months and you've listened to it more than the others? ;)

I'm doing the same actually, I forgot how awesome Dawn Of Possession and Failures For Gods are

Well, I mean, trust me. This isn't the first time I have listened to Immolation as I must have poorly mentioned above. Yeah, it has only been released a few months ago, but I do keep coming back this release more than I did with the other albums. And I even busted out C2AWB to compare the two, and I definitely find this one to be more solid. Now, I will listen to the rest of them again to back my statement up because it has been a while since I listened to the others ones previously.

I am sticking to my word. This album production wise is really good, the drums just sound so massive, and the songwriting is more cohesive and tight. Don't get me wrong, C2AWB is extremely heavy and great, but it is way more chaotic and all over the place, which I dig that style too, but this one is just more tight and well put together in my opinion. And you can't deny the production on this one. But fuck, going back and listening to some other albums after a while, they have some really great shit that I didn't listen to as much as I should have back in the day.

this is exactly why I love Close To A World Below, Here In After, basically all of their early albums. The dissonance and twisted-ness is Immolation's signature sound, and they're pretty much the only band to pull it off well, which just makes it all the better.

and no one cares about production :P
