I loved them when I was younger but now they just seem kinda goofy

And I still dig Slipknot, Mudvayne, etc

Yeah I always liked the singles for the most part but could never get into any albums. Still spin "Falling Away From Me" pretty often actually

I have zero nostalgia, this is basically my first time jamming Korn for real (and voluntarily) and honestly I never thought I could like nu-metal this much (granted I'm not calling any album a 5). I heard the first four albums so far and tbh I see no reasons to stop, think I'll jam at least everything they did with the original line-up.

FtL has some songs that I can't seem to dig but even then I can't deny the grooviness of stuff like Justin. When I heard the first 20 seconds of Divine I thought "god damn now I dig Korn" and three days later I'm walking in the countryside humming "BALL TOUNGUEE" and stuff

tl;dr idk they just bang and the writing is a lot more entertaining than I thought

A lot of it has to do with all of the whining. I just can't stand whiny metal, especially juxtaposed with the middle school shock value nonsense. I dig a lot of individual songs, but I can't listen to them for too long.

And yeah, I realize this sounds ridiculous since for some reason I can actually stand a band of 9 members, many of whom seem to do nothing, wearing masks.

Nah I don't think it's that ridiculous. I couldn't really explain any particular reason why but I think Slipknot is the "better" band. Maybe it's just that the're faster paced, idk. Also, Joey Jordison is pretty damn good actually. I know he's not in the band anymore though

I'm surprised myself but I'm not bothered by Davis' whining (actually kinda dig him as a frontman, pretty versatile). Not always, at least. FtL did irk me a bit because it felt phoned in.

I think this line-up has some genuine chemistry and ideas. I was really surprised when I realized that every song on the s/t was memorable for its unique reasons

Korn isn't nearly as bad as some make them out to be imo

Somehow what Sab writes warms my heart. It was not just the times and personal angst that made Korn great.
