Arkaea ain't that great either, it's true. But I do adore that one song I mentioned by them, as opposed to zero songs I like from DH.

Arkaea > Divine Heresy
Your awesome license just got revoked

As if Dev ever had that license to begin with ;)

lol Deviant. I can't appreciate Arkaea's debut, if they got Ryan Martinie in as their bassist like they were supposed to they would have been capable of a lot more then what they have now. Herrera's drumming combined with Martinie's bass would have been killer.

I actually enjoy that Arkaea album, as Styles knows, but just prefer Divine a whole lot more

Arkaea is listenable, Divine Heresy's new album is shit on all fronts. Crappy, one dimensional vocals, blast beats that never vary, unvariable and unimpressive guitarlines (seriously, even I could do better myself, I promse you that). I can not stress the fact how crappy that album was enough

Arkaea is crap - didn't you read my review (it's also repeated in this review's intro). Divine Heresy might not be the most diverse band but their riffs were more varied than your average FF song (before this album).

Whoa whoa whoa, I did not know that Martinie was supposed to the bass player...
I doubt it would change my opinion on their work, but it would have definitely made things more exciting to listen to.

He didn't join because he wasn't going to be able to tour with them, and they didn't want someone to half ass his bass live. Sam Rivers was asked as well

Moderator Fisterbutt (congrats btw, I already wished you earlier, but the damn shotboxes don't work atm), I proubly deem your last post untrue.
EDIT: Mudvayne's bassist, Trey

Yep, Martinie was supposed to be their bassist but he decided not to be because he had touring commitments and wouldnt be able to play shows with them.
I agree with Willie about DH, Dino's riffing got more technical on those albums as opposed to the earlier FF albums. On Mechanize he's even more of a beast.
Martinie = Mudvayne's Bassist

Haha, Metals is so happy he had to congratulate twice. But I might as well congratulate you too Trey.
Even Sam Rivers is a damn good bassist, that would have been nice.

Oh shit. That would have probably made a difference (if he was allowed to do what he wanted within the songs). Even a different singer would be a good start.

my post was so relevant I had to post it on two pages bloc ;)
Yeah Rivers is a good bassist, and i agree, he and Martinie would've both probably made great contributions on their part, if they'd been involved. Sadly, we got a dude who's unheard most of teh time
|

Exactly, instead we get this fool from Threat Signal.

Thanks. I think they're just trying to give me so much to do that I don't have time to review anymore ;)
I don't even remember who ended up doing bass on that Arkaea album.

Christian sadly drowns the bass out all the time

the bassist was also from Threat Signal, as bloc already mentioned, like Howard (vox).
