for some reason, the copy i downloaded from napster didn't include Dear Death Part 2. i JUST NOW found out that the track even existed, and OH MY FREAKING GOSH. it is amazing!! definitely a top 3 track for me, besides 'Cutthroat Collapse' and 'Churches and Serial Killers'

Dear Death Pt.I would have seemed like a strange title & closer without Part.II.

haha yeah. the one i originally downloaded was only called 'Dear Death' though. very strange. in any event, i loved the fact that the ENTIRE track was filled with vocals...there's not a single part where there's just instrumentals. i thought that was pretty cool.

Though I'm not usually into this kind of stuff, it's a good album.

Thanks Kronzo.

And what you have just said SlowlyFallingAwake is one of the reasons why I think this album is so good. It has the ability to convert non-believers as such.

Just make a mental note to return to the album in a few months time... Coz it'll be even better then.

I sing along to this in my car. Just sayin.

I have seen the light. After realizing that the last half of this album isn't actually a piece of shit, I've bumped up my rating.

I'd like to claim I have mind-altering powers... But it's really this album that has those powers.

And I agree that on first few listens, the 1st half seems significantly stronger than the 2nd. But they are pretty much equal when all is said & done & my favorite 3 track sequence is 8-10.

Yeah, it took me almost a year to finally bump The Loved Ones debut up to a 4.5, and thats one of my favorite discs.

I'd say that 4-10 is the real meat of the cd. Really tho, everything is pretty great here.

Careful, a lot of people around here think the opener is the best song on the album.

Favourite groupings of songs would be Churches and Serial Killers, Butchers Mouth and In Shallow Seas We Sail, though favourite song is Dear Death Pt 2

Yeah, the opener is wicked but I don't think that Curbside Goodbye and Inside Our Skin live up to it. Although that "I chose every word that I knew would hurt" is one of my favorites on the cd.

^^^ True dat.

My head hurts when I try to think of what is the least effective track on here. The easiest answer is Dear Death Pt.1. I'll leave it at that & move on.
