I seen them live too and it was a blast. Worse than Alone reconciled the wank, I think that is a near perfect album.

Good shout, The Body is one of my favorite bands of recent years. Bonus points when a band always experiments with their sound and never rests on their laurels.

Tbh I need to revisit Mamaleek and they were one of the bands I'd mention. Ulcerate opened the door on dissodeath and those that are making it zanier and just as strange as possible are/should be viewed as forerunners.

Of course this has spawned a legion of Ulcermimics but that's par for the course in any genre that finds a new/trendy sound

Overall, the more uncomfortable metal gets with its boundaries, the better off it is. But I guess my standard for enjoyment is also not as high as others and I can still get down to stuff that's been done before provided it's done well

The problem with the body is that they release too many albums and it makes me not care

@johnny I have fell off with boris. I used to love them but I just can’t keep up with how prolific they are, it’s too demanding

Genghis tron is the exception of that genre the same way horse is the exception to Nintendo core lol

Aw, that's a shame. I thought it was a great follow up to the sound they built on WTA kinda like an epilogue for the band. I legit don't think they'll make another one so it was a nice swan song imo even if it's not my favorite album of theirs.

i miss the mid 2000s american core scene so much sometimes. people were just having a blast and upsetting crusty metalheads. you could see horse the band, the blood brothers and fear before all at the same gig
