I believe Broken was his best work.

Sorry but you're wrong. Broken is great, but The Downward Spiral surpasses it in all ways.

Only album that comes close to this is The Fragile.

The Fragile is my favorite, but I guess The Downward Spiral is "better". I guess.....

The fragile is my favorite too, and thats how I used to look at it (TDS being "better") but now I'd have to say they're equals. A lot of People don't realize how much work went into the fragile (It took 2 full years to make) and what puts TF on top for me are the subtle nuances and extra layers of sound on that record, alot of which you have to really pay attention to catch or have quality headphones to hear. This just gives it an extra quality that puts it over the top for me. But they're both great in their own ways, i.e. how the concept on TDS was done perfectly.

As much as I love The Fragile, it doesn't flow as well and isn't as consistent as TDS, imo.

Well that was kind of the point of the fragile. One of the themes was incompletion or things falling apart (something along those lines) . It wasn't intended to fit perfectly together like TDS.

It also doesn't have Hurt.

La Mer is amazing, but nothing on there matches up to Hurt or Something I Can Never Have. Those songs are just on another level for me.

Yeah the perfect segue into The Great Below is phenomenal. The tracks were meant for each other.

Perhaps. They both do have the raw emotion that drips from every uttered word.

On a side note, after re-reading it again I'd have to say this is one of the best reviews I've read on sputnik

Closer is the only song in history that has ever made me throw up. I got a head rush from a cigarette and the song made me ill. It seriously helped me quit smoking because i could never enjoyably have a cigarette after that incident.

Props to NIN
