this is one of the albums that terribly injured the punk and rock genre , I haven't listened to it but please to the people who consider it a great album for it's impact , you should remember what kind of impact it was and that we are rating the music , not it's fame

it's too harsh to say that. there's a lot to enjoy here, but there's also some stuff that has been overplayed or meant to be played on an arena and killed the feeling of old school green day. i love tracks like Whatsername, Letterbomb, Jesus Of Suburbia, Give Me Novocaine, Holiday or Homecoming.

Letterbomb is such a great, underrated song.

Me too....but I pretend everything after Warning was a mistake. I admire you're dedication, and bravery to admit it.

I really don't despise American Idiot as much as I think I do. It's just when I think of how much I loved Dookie era Greenday, and then listen to American Idiot and the last peace of trash, I'm ultimately dissapointed and just end up pissed off about the whole thing.

You're right, they really didn't. There's just something about it.

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't part of it, but most of it's the music. Then paired with the image and whatnot, it's just a smorgasbord of feces and trans-fats

@andcas Whatsername is one of their most emotional songs. I love the lyrics.

I am curious to see what they'll do with Uno! Dos! & Tre!. There must be a lot of material for everyone to enjoy and hate.

ok, it's probabaly really is more like a 2.5 record. I'll give it another full listen. I do remember there being a few complete stinkers on it. I'll never listen to '21st Century' again though.

I only like American Eulogy, Horseshoes And Handgrenades, Static Age and Little Girl.

Don't really hate the rest, but it's just below average and really boring
