I don't agree with the rating or the review, but I'll admit that you touched some valid points. You made your point nicely, but the only thing that ruined it for me was the last sentence.
"...however looking past their fame you see nothing but another British band that holds little relevance of anything important to today’s music."
Do you really think that the most famous and influential band in the world (not best, but still) has no influence on - oh wait, most of today's popular music is shit derived from rehashed and overused shit. Oh, so then, that is true for the popular stuff, but for much of the underground stuff, it just isn't true. However, that misconception may be backed up a little bit, because I haven't seen one musician say that the Beatles were an influence to them. But I'm sure there are.
Anyway, now that I'm done rambling for a bit, I didn't pos but I didn't neg.

"Who gives a shit about influence, it is about how good the actual music is and this blows. Lyrics are very poor."
I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for you.

Normally I wouldn't neg based off of preference...but the points made here hardly justify the score, or, are just rather lame.
I'll agree that people attribute A LOT to The Beatles legacy that just isn't true. The Beatles didn't invent every genre of music. What they did was display songwriting talent that has been unmatched since (the melodies, the musicianship, the production, the lyrics) while maintaining a progressive mindset in being as eclectic of a band as possible. Can you name another band as commercially successful as The Beatles that maintained the same level of experimentalism and creativity that they did? The Beatles took many unrefined sounds out of the underground and performed them better than anybody else. Also, the strides The Beatles made in the advancement of producing an album are matched only by the likes of Can, in my opinion.
In short, write a negative review of The Beatles magnum opus = attempt to be "edgy and unique".
