I am pretty good at judging such things if I do say so myself

wtf this is amazing music. honestly didn't expect. also never was aware they're christians. that explains the blind hate people have for them haha
|

Christianity's history in Ireland doesn't exactly make it look like a beneficial mindset.

with or without you sucks but the opener is good

So, is Achtung Baby just as Christian and amazing as this? I'm planning to listen to it next!

less christian, very slightly less strong high points (imo at least) but more consistent. very different record tho the signature old u2 earnestness is placed behind like a level of artificial irony, but its hooks are def good enough to sell the pivot

Thank you! To be honest I am only listening to U2 because Daniel Lanois produced them (who did one of my favorite albums: Emmylou Harris' Wrecking Ball), I never expected to enjoy their music so much!

yea they owned. childhood fav that's held up a lot better than i thought they wouldve, and lanois/eno are a big part of that. if you dug this be sure to get around to the unforgettable fire, which is home to plenty of big shimmery arena ready epics the way this is while also integrating a good bit of ambient influence

Half this album I love but am never compelled to listen to
The other half I loathe
Love red hill mining town and still haven't found what I'm looking for the most
