Album's definitely a progression. Its lost some of its steam for me though and may go down to a 4. Still great though

Elusive Reaches and Stone Cold Metal played live by these guys is about the best thing ever.
|
| |
Oh yeah Styles, you actually got to see these guys live. How was that?

it.was.amazing!!!
Guys played more than 2 hours + the two warm-up bands. By the final 3 songs, i was so tired i couldn't move my head and the massive lack of fluids made me look like a zombie haha. I was damn happy though. I also was able to talk with one of the warm-up band's, Tracedawn's, guitarist. Nice guy and even though their music was a bit too simplistic imo, they are cool young guys.

Well that's cool. Young bands have to start somewhere I guess.
I saw a live pic of the band one time that showed them all dressed up with war paint and viking stuff. They do any of that?

They did that when I saw them, they were co-headliners with Amon Amarth, but their set list was very disappointing. Going to see them again in December though, so hopefully it will be better.

too bad Crysis, the live set they played when i saw them kicked ass and most surprisingly, the new songs were pretty much the best (that's not to say the others were bad by any means, far from it). The moshpit in the center was pretty fucking brutal as well.
and yeah Gregory, the bassist was wearing war paint and the other band members were just wearing "vikingish" stuff.

I'm definitely in the minority here but this is Ensiferum's best album.

Assuming you think their self-titled is their best that album got old fast for me. To be fair I haven't listened to it in ages.

Their self-titled album is simply awesome. Every song rocks. This album is close, but the title track and Stone Cold Metal drag in places.
