Holy shit the new vinyl remaster of this is boss. The drums and vox pack more punch and the whole album just has more oomph.

I think this and TSIB are my fav post metal albums so far.

If it sounds that good I might consider getting this on wax. Problem is that I burned a good 35 bucks on Leviathan and Crypt Sermon on vinyl.
But yeah this album rules no question about it. Speaking of Aaron Turner projects, you guys hear the new SUMAC record?

TSIB and like three other Neurosis albums are better than this but this is still very good
|
| |
This and TEOES > any other atmo-sludge that I can think of
This just pulls emotions out of me that no Neurosis record can, so I'd have a hard time ranking them higher

I've been sort of underwhelmed by Turner's projects since Isis. Palms was good but not great and Sumac doesn't appear much more exciting.

aaron's half-clean half-shouted vocals on so did we get me every time

Did you listen to that new Old Man Gloom record? It's Aaron Turner songwriting at its best with amazing vocals courtesy of Zozobra. I agree that Sumac is sounding rather dull and undifferentiated from Turner's other pet projects.
