Um, considering that it would be a stretch to call YCBY post-hardcore, I don't think it's the perfect album of that genre. Check out Shape of Punk to Come by Refused or Relationship of Command by At the Drive-In (or even Worship & Tribute by Glassjaw or TIoS by Thrice!).
It's pretty perfect for metalcore, up there with Jane Doe to me. But this is too radio-friendly? Didn't you have the newest Lamb of God album in your best of 2009 list? C'mon dude... and who cares if it's radio-friendly anyways? (it's not though)

Agreed, Inveigh. You know, I did enjoy the new Lamb of God, far from their best, but it was decent. YCBY is more of a metalcore record than post hardcore. This album is more post hardcore, but you know, Refused is a prime example of post hardcore and quite an amazing piece of music.
Yeah radio-friendly isn't bad as long as the music is good. If the songwriting is good, and the album gets played on the radio, good for them. However, it is ridiculous to say you don't like music because it could be on the radio.

'pit: yeah, it sure seems that way. at this point he's been labeled a troll here, regardless of whether he really is or not, we're going to treat him that way (too bad for him I guess...)
Steel: I'm with ya man. It so happens that most of what gets played on the radio is outside my tastes (as in, I don't like it); but that has nothing to do with the fact that it's being played on the radio. I love me some Metallica, The Who, Alice in Chains, etc. and that stuff gets played on the radio. Like music for the music, dislike music for the music. it's all about the music maaaaaan

bulletdudebrony: opinions aren't banned from this site dude. they're encouraged. but if you're going to say an album sucks (especially an album that's generally well-liked on this site such as this one) then at least give an intelligent reason for it. Otherwise it just seems like you're trolling (i.e. trying to get a rise out of people)

Yeah, he doesn't like it now. Instead of whining, he should stick up for himself. That's what happens when you go to a site that is strictly for music nerds.

I'm the same way man, I loved TOoD in high school, and loved YCBY when it came out my freshman year of college. YCBY's probably still my fav, but this is creeping up on it; it's quite amazing.
"I've died in every one of my dreams...since I was a child." Such a great song.

My brother really didn't like the tracks I played him from this album, and I really didn't like the tracks he played me off PTW's first album. I'm not sure what to think.

Opposite of December is fairly standard stuff nowadays, You Come Before You is their classic you need to listen to.
