i havent listened to this in a while but iirc it's pretty touching at the right moments but also a little heavyhanded/shoves it in your face and theyre good at making their songwriting seem better than it is somehow by dressing it up in sonics
i believe 'shiva' and 'bear' are my favorites

im kinda torn because saying this should have more acoustic stuff would be making it in the same vein as bon iver and so many others which wouldnt exactly be cool
but i think it works better that way like on songs like 'shiva' (especially the horn line, though) and im not sure the pseudo-skronk rock shoegaze stuff really works
this is still good tho imo
