Grutle's vocals are some of the best in black metal. Maybe even the best.

Hahahahaha really? Some of his shreiks are just downright bad on this album. Musically, the album is perfect.

I think he's definitely one of the best vocalists in black metal. I think all his vocals are pretty much perfect on this album.

They're kind of tied for me. Both styles are great.

I just like some more depth to my vocals. ie. Ihsahn from Emperor has one of those superior raspy voices on older Emperor records etc.

Yeah Ihsahn is great too. His vocals on In the Nightside Eclipse are fucking intense.

Yeah I'd go with Bergtatt, Nattens Madrigal, and then either Transilvanian Hunger or In the Nightside Eclipse.

I just got this last night. Sooo good. A black metal Opeth is actually the perfect way to describe this, so good call on that. I'm definitely going to get Isa now if it's anything like this.

I watched an Enslaved interview today and it made me want to listen to this. I'm going to spin this after I get a shower.

Harsh vocals are quite amazing tbh, Grutle is one of my favorites. Sounds a bit like Miael Stanne with that pleghmy tone but much blacker.

good comparison but they sound like he's not pushing enough out of his diaphragm but on tracks like The Watcher it doesnt bother me at all
