Colton admitted that he skipped The Wind when he listened to it so technically he hasn’t heard this album in full

Why would you skip the best song -_-

Apparently it’s not on Apple Music which is the only place he listens to music lol
Also best song is My Beautiful Leah

The Wind is a safe but solid choice for best on this

Surprisingly to probably nobody I generally prefer the atmospheric downtempo stuff to the more abrasive electro/industrial rock tracks here, but it’s all very good.
What’s some other good stuff that’s like those downtempo tracks (or do I just need to do a trip hop/downtempo deep dive)?

| |
I'm just honestly q surprised your fav isn't Angelene lol
Hmmm Felt Mountain is probs a natural follow up (and the downtempo bits on the new Yaya Kim - _ -)

Angelene’s probably uhhhhh 4th or 5th favorite? After The Wind, The River and The Garden are probs my top 3.
And yes yes I do still plan to try at least some of the Yaya Kim!!!

great choices, mine are very similar in fact
lol Johnny really is throwing out Yaya recs like confetti these days, I'm certainly not complaining but it's just amusing to see
I wonder how many people will actually bother listening (to the whole thing)

________ + [obnoxiously long recent record] is an impeccable rec formula and nothing else quite fills that slot
this is a rough album to rank, but i think The River and The Garden are firmly middle tier picks - both solid, but they can't hold a candle to the Wind (lol) and tend to get outgunned by more distinctive tracks across a full spin

Hmm Leah, Angelene , and t/t for top 3… damn I wanna include Catherine in there too but it’s prob only 4th
Only one on here I don’t like is prob The Garden though, it’s not bad but kinda bland
|
| |
hmmmm
S: Catherine, Angelene, t/t, The Wind
A+: Leah
A(+): No Girl So Sweet
A: Elise, Electric Light, The River
A-: The Garden
B: The Sky Lit Up, Joy

Though to rank yeah, tbh I kind of see this as having two distinct tiers of quality (well with The Wind in a singular group above those) that are hard to rank within.
And hm I could be misremembering since it’s been a while but Catherine and t/t could be above Garden too.

Good call with Sky Lit Up being toward the bottom
It has potential to be the best song on here, but she makes a bizarre choice to end the join just as it’s reaching its peak

Sky Lit Up is prob the only one of the “rock” songs here I really love tbh
